For 13 years, I’ve worked as a television news producer, telling stories and building newscasts across California. As an award-winning journalist, I’ve covered national headlines and major events, from the January 2025 wildfires and the 2024 Paris Olympics to presidential and local elections.
News producing taught me that planning is about more than staying organized—it’s about creating space to think, adapt, and anticipate what comes next. The bigger the story, the more intentional that planning becomes.
That philosophy became the foundation for Paper Ritual: an invitation to slow down, put something on paper, and make space for what matters. Our planners, journals, and stationery are designed around a simple ritual: pause, reflect, begin again.
Because life rarely happens in perfect order. And your paper doesn't have to, either.

the story behind
I’m an Egyptian immigrant who grew up in Los Angeles after my family settled in the San Fernando Valley. Growing up between cultures taught me early on to appreciate the little things that make a place—and the people in it—feel like home. It also gave me a deep appreciation for community, creativity, and the small businesses that give a neighborhood its character.
That love for community is something I carry with me today. I’ve always been drawn to local businesses and the people behind them—the dreamers, makers, and entrepreneurs who pour so much of themselves into what they create. Paper Ritual is my own contribution to that community: a small business built around thoughtful design, meaningful connection, and the belief that everyday moments deserve a little more intention.
